Morland Old Speckled Hen

Old Speckled Hen is in pubs and bars across the country in cask and also as a smooth version at 4.5% ABV.

‘Old Speckled Hen’ has a full, smooth flavour and is very easy to drink. Its rich amber colour and superb fruity aromas are complemented by a delicious blend of malty tastes. Toffee and malt combine with bitterness on the back of the tongue to give a balanced sweetness. This, all followed by a refreshingly dry finish.

Esta cerveza era producida en un principio por Morland y en 1999, debido a problemas económicos, fue adquirida por Greene King.

De color ámbar dorado intenso, con mucho cuerpo, aroma a ciruelas e intenso dulzor de la malta. En boca resaltan los sabores a pan de malta y a toffee y su dulzor se equilibra por un satisfactorio y largo final amargo y seco.

The idea was to create a beer that we could drink from 8am in the morning, all day, every day! A brew that you could make your ‘go to’ at any time and still function. So we took decided that this needed to be low ABV, ultra-pale, crisp, light and bang on in your face with the hops! The name comes from an old Black Country term in the middle of England my Great Granddad used to shout on his way out the door: “I’m going down the pub for a pint of neck oil!” Basically he wanted to drink his favourite local beer on mass and lube his thirst after a long hard day in the foundry. This is exactly what we do at the brewery. It’s our everyday, all day, go to Session IPA.

Fuller’s Imperial Stout

Brewed in the authentic style of the 18th century classic, Fuller’s limited edition Imperial Stout is a darkly delicious affair – with an infusion of rose buds giving rise to hints of Turkish delight.

Strong, rugged and resilient, Imperial Stout was initially brewed to withstand arduous journeys to imperial Russia, where it was a favourite drop of the nobility. This Fuller’s take is still stout by name and by nature, but we’ve added a little light to the shade – the dark, bitter chocolate notes are balanced by delicate floral character.

Rich, dark and special, Imperial Stout delivers roasted dark chocolate notes against a slightly fruity acidity. Sovereign and Centennial hops, meanwhile, bring floral flavour, enhanced by dried rose buds that hint at Turkish delight. There’s a taste of liquorice there too, ahead of a lasting finish with fairly high bitterness.
