Adnams Broadside

Adnams Broadside is a dark ruby red beer with aromas of fruitcake, almonds and conserved fruit. The beer is brewed with Pale Ale and Chocolate malts, along with First Gold hops. It won a gold medal at the Great British Beer Festival and “best strong bitter” in the country, making it well worth a try.  BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen Live presenter said, "It is an amber, rich ale with marmalade richness, fruitcake notes and I think it's brilliant."  Brewed in 1972 to commemorate the Battle of Sole Bay (1672), the bottled version of this tasty ale has a different recipe to the cask version and is said by some to pack a more flavoursome punch. The fruity aromas make it the perfect accompaniment to strong cheddar, meaning it’s perfect for a picnic lunch. Adnam’s 500ml bottles weigh less than 300g and are among the lightest in their category. More importantly, they’re also 100% recyclable. Eco-minded drinkers will be interested to know that this beer has a carbon footprint of 576 gCO2 equivalent emissions per 500ml bottle.
