To put it simply, we’re a neighbourhood brewery bringing people together over a great beer. A century ago Collingwood was the epicentre of Australian brewing and in 2016, we set out to bring independent brewing back to its original stomping ground.
We believe that beer should be for all walks and brew an award winning range to suit all tastes, from laid-back drinkers to the adventurous.
Founded in 2016 by Steve Jeffares, Guy Greenstone and Justin Joiner, after establishing the craft beer temples The Local Taphouse in St Kilda and Darlinghurst, the iconic GABS Festival and the GABS Hottest 100, Stomping Ground has grown into Australia’s Champion Large Independent Brewery with three beer halls and a crew of 100+.
Headed up by Ashur Hall, the one you’ll see kicking about in short shorts and gumboots, our brew crew bubble up hundreds of beers a year. From our well loved year ‘round range, to the traditional, or more left field styles you’ll see on our Beer Hall taps, created for festivals or to support a cause close to our hearts.
The team are always trying new things, taste testing (there’s A LOT of taste testing) and improving, to deliver interesting styles, top quality and simply smashable beers all year ‘round.
If you park up at our Collingwood, Moorabbin or Melbourne Airport Beer Hall, check out the action and watch our mates do their thing.
