“Kriek” is a Flemish word for cherry. Tumalo Creek is less than 150 feet from our brewery. The first two barrels purchased in 2011 were puncheons from Oregon Barrel Works. They are still in rotation, this project had us filling them with
lambic-inspired spontaneous beer on 500lbs of sweet cherries from Gunkel Orchards in the Columbia Valley. Aged on the pits prior to bottle conditioning with wildflower honey.
THIS IS OREGON!
Welcome to Tumalo Kriek
Two barrels, 500 pounds of cherries, aged spontaneous ale… That’s all I have to say.
