Sorachi Ace was made in Mills’ favourite way, drawing together a diverse range of flavours from different barrels and brews to create a drink greater than the sum of its parts. And then in this case, dry-hopping it with Sorachi Ace.
blend was made from three barrels, containing three different brews: 1. A high gravity rye beer brewed in June 2020 2. An unboiled raw beer brewed in May 2021 and hopped with NZ grown Wai-iti 3. An amber beer made with aged Citra hops, brewed in August 2021 The texture of the resulting drink strikes a lovely balance, simultaneously full and dry, with juicy acidity, the whole-leaf Sorachi Ace added prior to bottle conditioning, has added a touch of its signature coconut aromatics and given a further boost to the heady and boozy orange and lime.
