Fruity and funky barrel-aged mixed-ferm IPA. Brewed in December 2021, fermented with Little Earth Project’s house culture and hopped with UK grown Chinook hops. It was left to age for 24 months in barrel, and was then transferred to
for 7 months for further ageing, then dry hopped with LEP’s own-grown Bramling Cross hops from the 2023 harvest. Far more funky than sour, the hop oils have faded into fresh grapefruit and bretty funk, and an earthy, spiced back note to the finish.
Little Earth Project say “IPA is a term that has changed a lot since the pale ales that were first transported, in oak barrels, to the Indian subcontinent in the late 18th & 19th centuries. These beers were brewed to survive the long journey. They were relatively strong, bitter, heavily hopped, & almost certainly heaving with wild yeast. Today, IPA often means strong pale ale hopped abundantly with new world hops, often hazy, with a short shelf life. We wanted to make something that bridges that gap.”
