Inspired by the flavours of the German festive biscuit, we’ve brewed a strong spiced ale fit for the cold season ahead. Several speciality crystal malts and Maris Otter at the base make for a complex, malty and nutty sweetness. Locally
honey adds to the sweetness and the spices, fruit and nuts then temper it: plenty of ginger and small additions of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and green cardamom were added to the boil, along with fresh lemon zest and Bramling Cross hops. Roasted almonds, orange zest and more ginger added post ferment. Rich, festive, warming and zesty. Lebkuchen emulated and deeply satisfying!
