Originally brewed in collaboration with our friends at Heist Brew Co, Crimson Fang is a palinka inspired barrel aged Flanders Red style beer, aged on Scottish plums. For this single barrel version, we took a portion of Crimson Fang and aged it in a fresh Calvados barrel for a further 6 months. To this barrel we added 40kg of locally grown Victoria plums of which about a quarter were smoked over wine staves. Bottle Conditioned.

Holy Goat’s Crimson Fang is a Flanders Red sour brewed with Scottish Plum, in collaboration with Heist Brew Co.
They took inspiration from Hungarian pálinka to produce this Flanders Red style sour beer. Holy Goat blended 80% provision strength ‘young’ stock beer aged in steel, with around 20% ‘mature’ stock beer aged in Calvados oak barrels. They used these brandy barrels to provide a spirit character reminiscent of the pálinka.
This blended base was transferred onto 250g/l of 2022 harvest of Victoria plums, sourced from Pittormie fruit farm, located seven miles from the brewery.
DID YOU KNOW that Pálinka is a traditional fruit spirit (or fruit brandy) that can only be made in Hungary.
