The title of the oldest brewery in the world is in the hands of Weihenstephaner, founded in 1040 on the Weihenstephan hill north of Munich in Freising. The brewery has operated for almost 1000 years. Along with some of the world’s most knowledgeable brew masters, it has produced an excellent range of beers, all in accordance with the German Reinheisgebot which has helped it to secure numerous awards internationally for its products as well as being appreciated by connoisseurs in over 30 countries worldwide every day.Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Alkoholfrei is just one of the high quality products they produce and with the tagline ‘Taste doesn’t need alcohol’ they have produced an incredibly full-bodied beer with all the flavour and without the implications of alcohol.Their Alkoholfrei appears gold yellow in colour with a lively and fresh taste, with cloves and honey amongst the notes on the palate. It has been achieved by removing the alcohol after the fermentation, rather than disturbing the process, allowing the beer to fully mature. This first class beverage should be served between 6-8 degrees celsius and can be paired with light dishes, sweet and sour dishes or with a fruit sorbet dessert.
