Revel Cider Company Oud Blanc

Cider-wine hybrid blend of 2020 Skin Contact Riesling (34%), 2020 Perry (33%) and 2020 Skin Contact Apple Cider (33%).This vintage smells like pineapple Fun Dip (they never made a pineapple version but alas). Each fruit evolves into the next, pear sugars transform apples and Riesling into stone fruit and orchard leaves. Riesling tannins together with Revel's native microflora become subtle fruit tea.The mood is like if you made a dry pineapple liqueur and blended it with orange wine. The tannins are pronounced, chalky crabapple tannin meets crunchy grape tannin.Experientially, the texture is kind of like sucking on a plum pit. In a good way.To sum it all up, it’s got the psychological essence of sipping nice things on a hot beach. Very different from past vintages (it’s not volatile at all!) and far more representative of where Revel's collective palates are today.
