Renascence is a Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout that we have created just in time for Easter. Aged in ex-sherry and whisky barrels, conditioned on roasted cacao nibs and vanilla beans and then finished off with an addition of creamy lactose to create the ultimate Cadbury Creme Egg experience. Pouring jet black with a tan mocha head, it looks incredible in the glass. Warm boozy notes of whisky and sherry circle the glass as you stick your nose in, with a rich dutch cocoa aroma backing up the barrel character. The first sip is like biting right into a Creme Egg. layer of chocolate and vanilla intertwine, all supported by rich whisky and a hint of that sherry in the background. The finish is sweet to begin with thanks to the lactose, but is then cleaned up by a light roasty bitterness at the end to ensure that it’s moreish and not too cloying.
