Our Oud Bruin pays homage to the traditional Flanders brown ales of Belgium. We brewed this big sour brown ale with imported Pilsner malt alongside toasted and lightly roasted malts. 38 months of aging in Sangiovese puncheons lends layered complexity with plenty of tannins, and this version of our Oud Bruin is served still. Notes of cacao nibs, lightly roasted coffee, and plums are at the front of the palate, before transitioning to dates and figs. Firm acidity is countered by full bodied sweetness and notes of balsamic round out the profile of this unique and intense ale. Do not serve cold. Pour into a large stemmed glass for optimal enjoyment.
