Está elaborada por la abadía de Mount St Bernard en el condado de Leicestershire, y recibe su nombre para honrar el vínculo con la tierra donde se recuperó la vida monástica hace casi dos siglos y donde actualmente se asienta la abadía. Esta gran cerveza está elaborada en la tradición de cerveza artesanal británica, aunque también teniendo en cuenta las cervezas Trapenses tradicionales.
Os recordamos que para que una cerveza pueda ser calificada de “trapense”, debe de responder a una serie de criterios estrictos:
– La cerveza tiene que estar elaborada dentro de las paredes de una Abadía trapense, por los monjes trapenses o bajo su control.
– La cervecería debe depender del monasterio y la cultura de empresa debe inscribirse en el proyecto monástico.
– Generar beneficios no es el objetivo de la cervecería. Una parte de los beneficios se destina a la subsistencia de los monjes y al mantenimiento de la Abadía; el resto se destina para obras caritativas y las personas necesitadas. Armonía y personalidad monásticas
Vista: color caoba con ribetes rojizos, con una buena espuma beige compacta y persistente. Olfato: notas afrutadas, especiadas (regaliz) y ligeras notas de chocolate y caramelo. Gusto: en boca resulta igualmente comleja e intensa que en aroma, con notas especiadas (regaliz, pimienta negra), chocolate y notas afrutadas de higo maduro.
Sensación: cerveza de cuerpo pleno, con cierta robustez y un final cálido y seco. Es otra gran cerveza trapense que hace honor a ese sello tan emblemático.

We’ve called ours ‘Tynt Meadow’, to honour the link with the plot of land on which monastic life was refounded here in the Midlands almost two centuries ago. Being part of the great Trappist tradition, we’ve chosen to produce a strong dark ale, but one with a clearly English character. Tynt Meadow is mahogany-coloured, with a subtle, warm red hue, and a lasting beige head. Its aroma carries hints of dark chocolate, liquorice, and rich fruit flavours. The beer is full-bodied, gently balancing the taste of dark chocolate, pepper, and fig. It leaves a warm and dry finish on the palate. Tynt Meadow is brewed with English barley and hops, using an English strain of yeast. It is twice-fermented, with the first fermentation taking place in the tank, and the second in the bottle. It should be stored in a cool, dark, quiet place.

Tynt Meadow è il solo birrificio trappista presente in Gran Bretagna, situato all’interno delle mura del monastero Mount St. Bernard di Coalville, nel Leicestershire. L’edificio religioso viene costruito nel 1835 da una comunità di monaci irlandesi provenienti da Mount Melleray, i quali badano al sostentamento del monastero con le proprie attività, che si arricchiscono solo nel 2018 con l’avvio della produzione ufficiale della propria birra trappista.
L’ATP concede l’esposizione del proprio logo a seguito del progetto riguardante la creazione del birrificio ideato nel 2013: Tynt Meadow diventa così il dodicesimo birrificio al mondo che può vantare l’inclusione nel prestigioso circolo delle birre trappiste.
Tynt Meadow è anche il toponimo della collina sulla quale sorge il monastero, ed è lo stesso nome adottato per battezzare la prima, e per ora unica, trappist ale inglese.
