Ever wondered what a beer would taste like if you added chocolate brownies to it? Maybe not but unfortunately we did one night and whilst pondering many other stupid ideas the thought process for this beer was born.

Once we had sobered up we actually took some time to work on a recipe that used vegan brownies (non diary so it wont go bad obviously) and a whole load of chocolate fun.

8 malts had a little party with 2.4kg of home made vegan brownies in the mash tun (it would of been 2.5 kg but they tasted too good and some “accidently” fell into my mouth whilst cooling) – Sounds like fun you say! nope the mash turned to glue and took for ever to drain (lesson learnt there!). Off to the boil we go and in goes Lactose, Brown sugar and Molasses all to be boiled for 2 hours to get some proper deep caramel flavours on the go. Not to finish there once we had everything chilled we whirlpooled it with organic natural milkshake mix to make what would be descibed as malty hot chocolate.

Off to fermentation for nearly 4 weeks then a nice conditioning period of 8 weeks before being bottled conditioned for 12 weeks.

“well what does it actually taste like?” I hear you ask and the simple answer to that is chocolate.

Only 38 Bottles of this beast were packaged making it super limited edition!
