Podzim je v Bamberku a Schlenkerle obdobím silného piva. Podle staré tradice se Urbock vaří měsíce předem s domácím uzeným sladem. Po uvaření ve starých měděných kotlích zraje v pivních sklepích ze 14. století pod Stephansbergem. Díky vyššímu obsahu sladu a delšímu zrání je Urbock ještě plnější než klasické uzené pivo Aecht Schlenkerla, a proto velmi zvláštní požitek pro chladnější období.
Jako jedno z posledních tradičně vařených uzených piv je Schlenkerla pasažérem v „Archě chuti“ Slow Food.
